Nature of request
Richard de Hoghton and Sibyl his wife state that the manor of Mollington in Cheshire ought to descend to Sibyl because of a gift made by Robert Banastre to William de Lee and Clemence his wife and the heirs of their bodies legally begotten, but was seized into the hand of the Earl of Chester because Henry, their son and Sibyl's brother, was beheaded, without process or judgment, in the company of Adam Banastre. Sibyl has sued for this manor, but has never been able to recover it. They request a remedy for Sibyl, and that she might have restitution of the issues of the manor for all the time when it was in their hand.
Nature of endorsement
The Earl of Chester is to be ordered by a writ of the great seal, containing the force and effect of this petition, that when everything touching the aforesaid business has been seen and examined, he is to proceed according to the process held before him, doing justice to the petitioner.
