Robert de Hokesham states that his ancestors have always held the hundred of Budleigh in Devon in fee farm, of the gift of Henry I, until, after his father's death, he and his lands were taken into the king's hand by reason of his minority; and, when he came of age, the king retained this hundred in his hand, where it remains. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
Let the inquisitions returned in Chancery after the death of his ancestor be examined, and let justice be done.
