- John Hereford complains that he was wrongfully arrested and imprisoned in Winchester on the previous Tuesday, at the suit of William Bolt, and condemned, without response, to pay 40s. in a pie-powder court presided over by William Reson, Mayor of Winchester, and that before paying this sum he could not continue with his messages. He requests such a remedy for this matter that the king's messengers are not delayed in this way in future.
