Nature of request
John Heryng and Elizabeth his wife state that in August in the twenty-fifth year of the king's reign [1351], when he committed the felony for which he was outlawed, William son of Nicholas Palmes held nothing in the manor of Naburn with the advowson of the church of St George, Fishergate, York, nor did he at any time afterwards, but rather it belonged to Elizabeth and her sister Margaret, daughters of Thomas Malbys. They ask for a suitable remedy, that they might recover the manor, and that the king might grant the manor to John at farm.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to having [hidden below the mounting], he is to sue at common law. With regard to taking the manor at farm, the king has granted it.

CFR 1356-68 p.281 is dated 18 February 1364, and would seem to be in response to this petition. It cannot be much later, as CPR 1364-7 p.18 is dated 24 September 1364.
