Nature of request
Copy of letters patent of Edward II (without dating clause), granting to Robert Hastang the custody of the manor of Kingston upon Hull with Myton, and of the town of Kingston upon Hull, receiving £100 from this annually, in exchange for £100 from the lands of Bathgate and Ratho, which the king has resumed into his hands.
Nature of endorsement
[Response to SC 8/51/2503] It seems to the council that it is just that they should be directed to pay the farm to the aforesaid Robert. He is to go to Chancery and show his letters patent there, and he is to have letters under the great seal to the Mayor, Bailiffs and people of the town of Hull, that they are to answer to the said Robert for their annual farm for the duration of his life. And the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are also to be ordered to have the said Robert appear to account.
