Nature of request
Robert Hastang states that for the good service which he did the king's father and grandfather, the king's father granted him the custody of the town of Kingston upon Hull and of the manor of Myton for term of his life, receiving £100 annually from this, as can be seen from the transcript of the king's letters patent attached to this petition, and that he has been seised of this until the king recently granted to town to its burgesses at fee farm for £70 annually. As he ought rightly to receive the issues of the town, by virtue of these letters patent, Robert requests a writ to the burgesses, instructing them to pay their fee to him for term of his life.
