Nature of request
Catherine Harynge states that Henry de Cotenham, Bailiff of the hundred of Witchford, Walter de Gyngewyk, Robert de la Salle, Simon le Eye of Woodhurst, maliciously and without any indictment or reason seized her brother, Henry Haring, at Bluntisham in Huntingdonshire, and imprisoned him at Ely in Cambridgeshire, in the franchise of St Etheldreda; then, when the king ordered the delivery of Ely gaol, they concealed him, and afterwards killed him by cutting the muscles below his knees, following a botched attempt to hang him.
