Hale requests remedy concerning firewood that several of the king's ministers took from him in the first to eleventh years of his reign as he is grievously impoverished as is shown by the tallies and remembrances made between him and them.1)
Nature of endorsement
He should show what he has of the debt to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer, and they should make to come those that are mentioned, and do what ought to be done. And if the debt be found clear towards the king, they should certify the king.2) Coram rege.
