The petition complains that Haltebe indicted by false conspiracy Cleydone and others by the power of Mortimer with the assent of the earl of Kent and imprisoned them until they made ransom. And de la Rente was bound to the late king in a certain sum, and Haltebe pursued him by the power of Despenser whose ally he was until he made a recognizance to Despenser and afterwards sued an elegit in the name of Despenser and has encroached upon de la Rente's land, and has been served of the money.
