Nature of request
The men complain of a great trespass done against them by the abbot. A plea is pending between the king and the abbot, and the abbot had been forbidden to make any manner of grievance to the people pending the plea. The abbot came and took and imprisoned them. They request remedy for this contempt made to their great damage.

Dated on dorse to Edward I,?c.1279 referring to Rot Parl entry, and details in VCH Worcs II, p.163 regarding struggles with Edward I in 1279 regarding quo warranto proceedings and the involvement of tenants in Halesowen. The hand would seem to fit this date.
