Haghe requests that he might be discharged from the service due from two knight's fees, which are in the seisin of the king by the forfeiture of Henry Treis. Two hamlets which are members of the manor of Hazelbury, which is held from the honour of Wallingford, have come into the king's hand, and are held for two knight's fees. However Haghe has been distrained for the whole 4 fees in the scutage.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer and barons that when they have searched the remembrances of the Exchequer they should certify by which service the manor is held and of other things contained in the petition that are to be searched for. And let them also enquire of the truth of this, and what hamlets were members of the manor are in the hand of the king, and by what cause, and from whom they were held, and of other articles, and let the king be certified.Coram rege.
