Nature of request
The petitioners request that the inquisition is caused to be seen and a remedy done since the earl of Gloucester has constructed a weir in his land of Tryleg obstructing the passage of ships and barges along the river Wye to the loss of the king and the impoverishment of the people as this was a major route for the carriage of all manner of victuals and merchandise between Bristol and Monmouth as can be seen by the inquisition made by order of the king.

Let the inquisition of which this petition makes mention be seen before the council, and afterwards let a remedy be provided as is fitting.
