The petitioners request that the king will order his will to his justices of the Bench concerning their suit for dower. They brought a writ of dower against Eleanor de Percy for a third part of land in Buckden of the free tenement of Knol, and Eleanor came and said that the land had been taken into the king's hand following her husband's death, and she had been assigned dower from it, and vouched to warranty her son whose keeping was in the king's hand by his minority, the lands being in part in her keeping, and the remainder was in the keeping of the archbishop. He came and said that he could not answer without the king whereby the proceedings are delayed until the king gives his will
Nature of endorsement
They should come into Chancery and should have a writ formed in their case to the justices to proceed to judgement according to law, notwithstanding etc.
