Occupation

Nature of request
The abbess requests that a writ be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they deliver the churches of Newendon, Brenzett and Broomhill with the yields to her or her proctor and her goods and chattels and the arrears of the farms of which the king should not have been served, and which Stokke and his pledges have paid to the king, and that Stokke be ordered to serve the farm to the abbess as before the war, as the abbess is impoverished by inundations of the sea, and will not be able to govern her house without the restitution of the churches. The churches were leased to Stokke before the war between the king's father and the king of France, but the churches were taken into the king's hand because of the war as they were held by alien religious, Stokke continuing to farm them and paying the king. The abbess and her proctor have not been able to recover the churches.
Nature of endorsement
Because peace is restored between the realms let it be ordered to Stokke that he recognize the abbess and pay to her what he has being paying to the king, and the king wishes that he be discharged towards the king.
