SC 8/49/2449
Date
[1308-1309]
Description
Petitioners
John Gylemyn
Name(s)
Gylemyn, John
Addressees
King and council
Nature of request
Gulemyn requests that he and Ryssheton be discharged of a sum that is now demanded in the Exchequer by writ, since they have rendered account for the sum to the keeper of the Wardrobe, and he is charged, and has rendered his account as well. The barons of the Exchequer have issued further writs to the sheriffs of London to put the thing in respite without making allowance to the petitioner and Ryssheton.
Nature of endorsement
Let this petition be ordered by writs to the treasurer and barons
People mentioned
Adam de Ryssheton
John de Drokesford (Droxford), Keeper of the Wardrobe.
Note
The petition must date to 1308-9, as it would seem that John de Droxford seems still to be keeper of the Wardrobe. The petition clearly refers to the petitioner doing service to the late king, so this must clearly be the second term of Droxford as keeper in 1308-9 under Edward II. Even if this is after Droxford's period, it cannot be long after.
