Name(s)
de Graunsete; de Graunsete, Walter; Agnes
Addressees
King and council
Nature of request
The Graunsetes request that a new commission be issued to enquire of the complaints concerning the excesses of Holywode in his office, and a writ be directed to the treasurer and barons of those parts to remove Holywode from office, and a writ to Holywode not to meddle in the office until the truth of it has been enquired of and returned into the Chancery of England, and also that a writ upon the commission of execution concerning the business so that the truth is found, and reason be done to the king and people. The Grauntsetes and others had requested this previously, and a commission was issued accordingly to the archbishop and others. However Holywode has sued to have the commission repealed and to be put back into office.
Nature of endorsement
Let the first commission be executed or new one issued, and writs made to those by whom those things contained in the commission are best able to be taken for the profit of the king and the ease of his people.
