Nature of request
1) The petitioners request remedy as by commandment by king's writs they sold wheat that they had received from Haselshawe and his companions, but because it had not been bought by Haselshawe according to the common price then in the city, they did not wish to accept it in the wardrobe.2) The petitioners request allowance in the sums that they have expended on several casks of flour that they received by commandment by writ of the Exchequer.3) Grantham requests that he be allowed the money for wool that he was carrying that he paid to Hedersete and his companions, customers of wool at London as appears by the rolls of the customers.

[On face]1) Let it be ordered to the auditors of their account that in advisement of the . . . and of the . . . that the price of the corn be amended, and right and reason be done to them.2) Let it be ordered to them that they hear their account, that they do reason.3) Let it be ordered to the treasurer and barons that they view the accounts of the customers. If they find that the king was served of this then they should do reason.[On dorse] Coram domino rege.

Note
The petition dates to 1324 as it was shortly after the end of the petitioners' term as sheriffs (List of Sheriffs, p.202). In addition the third request in this petition was answered by a writ to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer on 13 June 1324 (CCR 1323-7, pp.115-6).
