Nature of request
1) The petitioner seeks the king's remedy concerning an assault made upon him by Thomas le Murrays, Richard his brother, and others, in the high pass on Wheatley Moor, whereby the petitioner was wounded in his right arm and lost the use of his arm and hand.2) The petitioner also seeks the king's justice for the same malefactors for the killing of Jordan de Qwetelay (son of his patron) by the hand of Thomas le Murrays, who struck him and from which blow he subsequently died.3) The petitioner also seeks a proper inquest into the matter, because after Jordan was killed the case was brought before the coroner in the quarter sessions, but Thomas le Murrays delayed the inquest into the neighbouring county, where the same malefactors further delay justice.
