Nature of request
The petitioner asks the king that certain damages awarded against him and others should be levied from their lands, tenements, goods, and chattels in the county of Surrey, without the imprisonment of their bodies. The petitioner and others were convicted in a writ of trespass at the suit of Reynham, before Scrope and his fellow justices. An award of damages was made to Reynham and their bodies were taken for security. Then the king pardoned the petitioner and the others of imprisonment, which charter of pardon was shown to Scrope and his fellows, but they were not released from prison. Additionally, all their property in Surrey was awarded to Reynham in order to raise his damages.
