- The petitioner seeks the return of his woodland of Wakerley, which has been in the king's hands for over one year since the king's forest officials seized it, contrary to the terms of the original grant from King Henry III to John de Burgh the petitioner's ancestor. The petitioner intended to extend the area of cleared and enclosed woodland (which is part of the king's forest) in order to offer it for sale, as is his right by the terms on which it was granted to his ancestor, but he was opposed by the king's foresters and verderers.

- Dated on the guard to c. 1299 on the basis of CCR 1296-1302, p.242 (1299), but this reference relates to a period when the petitioner was a minor and not in possession of his estates, so this petition must be later.
