1) The petitioner shows that he purchased from the king the marriage of John, son and heir of Hugh de Lachyndon, and that Roger Cok (at night and against the king's peace) took John and espoused him to his daughter while the petitioner was overseas in the king's service. The petitioner seeks a remedy from the king.2) On the day the petitioner made his case, Cok took a certain Mary to affirm from Hugh that John was a minor and ward of the king, and remained thus together with his lands. The petitioner brought the king's writ to the exchequer that Fissimound and others should enquire into Mary's account. He seeks justice and the return of his ward from the king, which is to be recorded in chancery.
