The petitioner states that Elizabeth de Mountague died seised of the manor of Worksop with the Park (near Sherwood Forest) in dower for the term of her life of the heritage of the petitioner. The Park, by reason of defaults during Elizabeth's life, was taken into the king's hands. The petitioner states that he is not liable for any charges by reason of the said defaults, and asks the king to order that livery of the Park be granted to him as his right inheritance.
Nature of endorsement
Let a writ be made in chancery to warn Elizabeth's executors that a certain day has been allocated in chancery for them to show how they are not liable for charges to the king for the said defaults. And then right should be done.
