Joan Forde, a poor widow of South Molton in Devon, states that she has been kept out of her inheritance for twenty years and more, first by Thomas Pillond and then by his feoffees; she recovered the inheritance against them, but has now been put out again by John Mulys, man of law, and William Broun, to her disinheritance and that of her son Joce. She asks that these three men might be summoned before the king and council by a writ of sub poena, to be examined on this.

John Kemp, Archbishop of York, was Chancellor of England between 16 March 1426 and 26 February 1432: Henry Chichele was Archbishop of Canterbury, Philip Morgan Bishop of Ely, and John Stafford Bishop of Bath and Wells for the whole of that period.'LR le Bourgchier' is Lewis Robessart, 2nd husband of Elizabeth, Lady Bourgchier, killed in action at Amiens, 26 Nov 1431. Cromwell is the ever-present Ralph, Lord Cromwell.
