Nature of request
The Abbot and convent of Faversham make two requests:1) They request confirmation of their charters, and strengthening of their franchises, as in the matter of full return of writs and of outfangthief, which have fallen into disuse through the negligence of their bailiffs, as Sheriffs and other ministers of the king have been entering their manors to the disinheritance of their church and harm of their franchises.2) They request a fair at Tring for eight days at the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul, and a market every Tuesday.

The king has written by writ of the privy seal, and the business is entrusted to certain auditors; and it will be done according to the form of the command.
