Nature of request
Geoffrey le Fauconer, formerly vicar of Chesham, states that, by a conspiracy between Ralph de Wedone, Walter le Ran and Geoffrey de la Northdene, steward of Ralph de Wedone, a writ of appeal was purchased against him in the county of Buckinghamshire, in the name of a fictitious Agnes de Beaumond, and that with the assent of Peter de la Rokele, Under-sheriff of Buckinghamshire, he was imprisoned, while they collected some tithes due to his church, which were given to the Abbot of Leicester. They then procured that the writ be returned that he could not be found. He has never been able to have a remedy for this, because of the maintenance which Ralph de Wedone had from Robert de Baudak and other great men. He requests a remedy now.
