Nature of request
John de Flors states that his father served the king's father well and loyally during the war in Gascony, and was in the garrison of the castle of Bourg at his own expense, so that his wife had to sell her inheritance to support him. He was then captured and put to death by the French. The petitioner too has loyally served the king, and asks, for this service and the loss of his inheritance, that he might have £38 Tournois of rent owed to the king in various places, by the heirs of William Ros, and by Iter Aymeri and his brothers, or what the king pleases of this, for term of life.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.The Seneschal of Gascony is to be ordered that, having obtained fuller information on the claim made in the petition, if he finds that it is true, then he is to provide for the estate of the abovementioned John as seems to him should be done.
