Matthew le Ermet states that he was imprisoned in York prison on the command of Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, on suspicion of being a Scottish spy, as can be seen from the return made in Chancery by the Bailiffs of Yorkshire, and that he is still in prison. He requests deliverance.
