Nature of request
Owen ap Maudoc and Maredudd ap Maudoc of the cantref of Cedewain state that they are the rightful heirs to this cantred, and that their ancestors were seised of it until they were disseised by the Mortimers. Roger Mortimer allowed them to keep a piece of land between the River Severn and Ceri, but Edmund de Mortimer disseised them of this land also, without judgment. The whole land is now in the king's hand, and they request a remedy.

Note
CCR 1330-3 pp.345-6 is dated at Westminster, 12 October 1331: and the petition would seem to date from between Roger de Mortimer's death in 1330 and this date. Petitions Relating to Wales, pp.61-2 dates it to '?1284-1303', a date which can be ruled out by the hand and the language.
