Thomas, Archbishop of York and Primate of England, states that although he and his predecessors have been peacefully seised of the manor of Cawood with its appurtenances as of the right of their church, the Escheator north of the Trent has seized a third of the woods and moor of this manor into the king's hand, without reason or judgment. He asks that he might have his seisin back.
