Nature of request
Henry Le Orebatur, Richard de Brigenehale, Hugh de Fris, John Randman and William de Richemund, merchants of York, ask the king to order payment of the moneys borrowed from them by William de la Pole, then customs officer of Kingston upon Hull, for the king's expenses at Stanhope, as William has an allowance for these sums in his account, and is charged with repaying them.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have searched the rolls and remembrances of the Exchequer concerning the accounts of the said customs officers, if they find that the king has been paid the said moneys, and that they are still owed to the creditors, then they are to let them have payment or suitable assignment, charging etc.
