The poor people of York request grace and a remedy in the matter of payment of the debts still due to them for provisions and other things taken from them for the king's marriage, as for want of such payment some of them are completely ruined.

The petition is dated on the guard to '? c. 1329', with reference to Edward III's marriage. As the petition seems to have been turned down, so that it is unlikely that any action was taken on it, it is hard to be more specific in dating it.
