Nature of request
The Prior and convent of St Andrew outside York, of the order of Sempringham, make two requests:1) They state that they bought 6 marks' worth of stone for work on their church, by the view of Richard de Wyrcestre, chaplain and master of works at York castle in the time of the late king, who took that stone for work on York castle, without paying. They ask the present king for an allowance for that stone.2) They state that their lands in the North Riding have been burnt by the Scots and their livestock driven away, and they are greatly impoverished, but that both the tenth granted to the late king and the one granted to the present king are based on an assessment of their wealth before this happened. They ask for a new assessment of their lands in the North Riding and the East Riding, and their rents in the city of York, and that they might be charged for that.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to the first petition: coram rege et magno consilio. With regard to the second: he is to have a writ to the Archbishop of York, to re-assess the temporalities of the said prior, attached to his spiritualities.

Note
The commission for the inquisition in CIM 1307-49 no.1365 was issued on 10 February 7 Edward III (1333), and the inquisition was held on the following 22 February. A date of c. 1333 thus seems plausible.
