Note
CPR 1292-1301 p.573 is dated at Lincoln, 22 February, 1301: the king's permission for the Abbot and convent to acquire land to the value of £200 a year is clearly in response to this petition.CPR 1307-13 pp.324-325 is dated at Berwick upon Tweed, 12 February 1311, and mentions the grant being made at the request of Queen Margaret, in the late king's parliament of Lincoln. The letters of licence in CCR 1307-13 pp.134-135 are dated on 8 December, 2 Edward II (1308). The petition is mentioned as being among the petitions presented to the late king in his parliament at Lincoln in his twenty-ninth year (the parliament of January 1301). So this petition can be dated conclusively to 1301.
