Thomas de Everyngham states that William de Clif and Thomas de Donestaple wrongly expelled him from his houses and land at Staftword, and took and carried off his goods and chattels to the value of £300, claiming that he was a rebel and the king's enemy - which he has never been. Thomas de Donestaple (Dunstable)
Note
Dated on the guard to c. 1326, with reference to CCR 1323-7 p.614 and C 81/1329 no. 123. C 81/1329 no. 123 is dated 14 August 1325, and would seem to be the writ which sent Clif and Donestaple to expel the petitioner from his lands. CCR 1323-7 p.614 is dated at the Tower, 26 September 1326, and would seem to refer to the petitioner's claims that he was accused of being the king's enemy. Everingham was pardoned as an adherent of Thomas of Lancaster in 1318 (CPR 1317-21, p.232).
