Robert Fitz Stephen and Alan Fitz Adam of Abingdon state that John de Comton and other unknown people, on the orders of Hamo de Southho, stole their cattle from their pasture in Abington, and chased them away as far as a bog called Holewelle, where they caught them. The Constable of the vill attached Robert, Alan and John de Comton to appear at the next county court, where Hamo had the then Sheriff of Cambridgeshire arrest them; and they were imprisoned until they had made fine with Hamo: on account of which they have lost their lands and goods. They request a remedy.
