Nature of request
The Prioress and convent of Armathwaite state that they have been so ruined by the Scots that they are reduced to dependence on alms for their sustenance, request that they might be pardoned £10 which they owe the king, for victuals bought from John de Louthre and his companions in the time of his father.
Nature of endorsement
It seems to the council, if it please the king, that it would be alms on the part of the king, for the great losses and destructions that they have suffered through the Scottish war, to pardon the said sum.It pleases the king.
