- If any individual person of religion feels harmed by such a case as this petition supposes, he is to sue in Chancery or at the Exchequer for a remedy.

- The religious of England state that the king, in the parliament of the fourteenth year of his reign, because of the ninths granted to him then, pardoned everyone in his realm all arrears of farms until the start of his tenth year, and other debts listed in a deed, except for sheriffs and other ministers and receivers of the king then living. Some of these debts are still being demanded by the Barons of the Exchequer, because they use such general names as 'abbot', 'prior' and 'convent', which the Barons say designate people who should always be understood as living. They ask for clarification, and if they should be barred from the benefits of the pardon in this way.
