Nature of request
Letters of attestation from the Bailiffs of Great Yarmouth to Edward I, attesting that their fellow-burgess Robert Elys is owed £20 for four lasts of herring by Jacques Bancard and Dodin Bancard, and that despite letters from the Bailiffs and the king to Gerard de Voorne, Castellan of Zealand and Lord of Maerlant, and the Echevins of Maerlant, they have refused to do justice to him; and asking the king to provide him with a remedy.
