Robert Elys of Great Yarmouth states that Jacques Bancard, merchant and attorney of Dodin Bankard of Maerlant, bought four lasts of herring from him in Great Yarmouth for £20 and promised to pay him three years ago, and that despite letters from the king to Gerard de Voorne, Castellan of Zealand and Lord of Maerlant, nothing has been done about this, as the Bailiffs of Great Yarmouth have attested by their letters on this sent to the king. He asks the king to order recovery of his goods from merchants of Zealand in England.
