Nature of request
Benedict de Eglefeld states that he has purchased the manor of Clifton, which is held of the honour of Cockermouth, which is in the king's hand, and not of the crown, the Escheator has seized the manor, contrary to the tenor of the Great Charter, because Benedict purchased that manor without the king's permission. He requests a writ to the Escheator to remove his hand.
Nature of endorsement
He is to sue in Chancery.
