Nature of request
John Evesham and Elizabeth his wife state that William Wauncy, Elizabeth's son by her former husband, Robert Wauncy, has recently granted the reversion of the manor of Astwell to Thomas Walssh, knight, and has sued a writ of quid iuris clamat to have John and Elizabeth attorn to Thomas Walssh, according to the grant of the reversion - although the law does not allow this, while Robert and Elizabeth have living issue in tail. Thomas has refused to sue the writ further, but has entered the manor forcibly, ousting John and Elizabeth. Because of their poverty and his maintenance by great men, they dare not sue an assize, and therefore request a remedy.
