Nature of request
The petitioners state that during this current vacancy that the keeper by the command of the king put in respite until the quinzene of Michaelmas the demand that he had made of the men for a recognizance of 100 marks to be paid to the king for the vacancy though this has never happened before. They have come to court to request that the king maintain and sustain them in their estate and they put themselves on the enquiry of the country that this was never demanded.
