The petitioners state that the king granted to John Chandos the castle and barony of St Sauveur. Following his death the castle and barony were taken into the king's hand the right descent being to Chandos's three daughters. They request remedy.

Note
The petition is dated to c. 1373 as on 10 November 1373 Elizabeth, another daughter and one of the coheirs of John Chandos, surrendered her claim to St Sauveur and other lands that her father had held, and it seems likely that the petitioners were acting at a time not too far removed from this surrender (CCR 1369-74, p.597).
