Nature of request
The archbishop shows that Thornbury at the time of his death was in debt to the king, and his goods were seized by order of the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer where they still are. The archbishop is charged for Thornbury and requests a writ to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer to search the inventories of the goods so that the king can be answered for the debts in discharge of the archbishop and Thornbury.

The petition cannot be accurately dated as the guard reference is to a related matter, but not the matter that this petition concerns (CCR 1333-7, pp.56-7). It is likely that the petition is of a similar date and is therefore dated to c.1333.
