Reference
SC 8/44/2175
Date
[c. 1328]
Description
Petitioners
Henry de Dynyton, Burgess of the town of Caernarvon.
Name(s)
de Dynyton, Henry
Places mentioned
Caernarfon, [Caernarfonshire, Wales]
Bodellok (Bodellog) [Caernarfonshire, Wales].
Neugolf (Neigwl), [Caernarfonshire, Wales].
Note
The petition is hard to date for Rees, Calendar of Ancient Petitions relating to Wales, seems to misunderstand or ignore the evidence that he cites. It would appear that the mills and manors referred to here had been granted to Edmund de Dynyton and Hugh de Foston in succession in 1317 and 1318 for ten years. Foston had died and his executor was granted the term (CCR 1323-7, p.19). If this is so then Henry de Dynyton could not have petitioned and received his request earlier than 1328, and the date on the guard and in Rees seem suspect.
