Description
Petitioners
Bernard Dyne.
Name(s)
Dyne, Bernard
Places mentioned
Southampton, [Hampshire].
Note
The guard comments erroneously link this to a writ issued to the treasurer and barons concerning another sum this time of 50s. 3d., rather than the 60s. 3d. referred to in the petition, and lent to the king at the port of London (CCR 1330-3, p.188). Whilst it is possible that some confusion exists in this close roll entry, it seems more likely that the two sums were separate. However the date of the petition is likely to be for about this period, Dyne, a merchant of Florence being active in this period as a merchant and lender of money.
