Note (Additional information about the record)
- John de Drokenesford was appointed as Bishop of Bath and Wells in 1309, and served as Keeper of the Wardrobe twice, between 20 November 1295 and 8 July 1307, and between 8 July 1308 and 8 July 1309. This petition would seem to refer to this second appointment. It might seem to have been delivered shortly after 1309, as he was still occupied in the accounts: but the duplicate, SC 8/95/4718, has a French endorsement that would be unusual this early, and is among a group of petitions that seem to be datable to c. 1324. This petition is therefore tentatively dated to c. 1324.
