Nature of request
John de Drayton, who was granted the bailiwick of Salcey by the king's charter, for term of his life, but who has now been expelled from it without cause, asks that he might be able to have it back.
Nature of endorsement
He is to come to Chancery and show his charter, and the Chancellor, when he has had advice on the reason why he was expelled, and when he has called those who are to be called, is further to do what is just and reasonable.
Note
CFR 1327-37 p.10 is dated at Westminster, 15 February 1327. CPR 1327-30 p.241 is dated at York, 1 March 1328. As the petition states that he held the bailiwick for life, it must date from after 1 March 1328 - but could have been delivered several years later.
