SC 8/43/2118
Date
[c. 1327]
Description
Petitioners
William de Donston, executor of the testament of Roger de Nicol
Name(s)
de Donston, William
Addressees
King and council
Nature of request
William de Donston, executor of the testament of Roger de Nicol, states that King Edward I owed Roger £20, through a bond, which is attached to this petition, and at the last parliament held at Westminster orders were given that William was to have a writ to the Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer, a copy of which is attached to this petition, that they were to give him an allowance for £5 10s. and payment or reasonable assignment for the rest. He has had an allowance for the £5 10s., but nothing has been done about the remainder. He requests payment or a reasonable allowance.
Nature of endorsement
He is to sue to the king.
Places mentioned
Westminster
People mentioned
Roger de Nicol (Lincoln)
[Edward I], King of England
Note
This petition was presented to the parliament following the Westminster parliament to which SC 8/43/2116 was presented. If that was the parliament of January 1327, as is most likely, this petition would be to the Lincoln parliament of September 1327. However, it is also possible that SC 8/43/2116 was presented to the next Westminster parliament, that of February 1329, in which case this petition would have been presented to the Windsor parliament of July 1329. Or that the petitioner is presenting this petition to the first parliament held at Westminster after the one to which he presented SC 8/43/2116: in which case that one would have been presented to the parliament of January 1327, and this one to that of February 1329.
