Nature of request
William Deverous states that although William Deverous, his grandfather, and Lucy his wife held the manor of Lyonshall for term of their lives, with remainder to their son John and the heirs of his body, they alienated the manor in fee to the Bishop of Chester, and it has now come into the king's hand through the death of William Tochet. He requests a remedy.

A note on the guard dates this petition to 'c. 1322' with reference to the forfeiture of William Tochet. CPR 1321-4 p.113, dated at York, 20 May 1322, and CCR 1318-23 p. 456, dated at Rothwell, 31 May 1322, confirm that William Touchet was indeed lately a rebel.
